Republic County Girls Basketball Senior Spotlight: Tallyn Melton
Tallyn Melton is a four year member of the basketball team. She began playing when she was a third grader on the Republic County Youth Basketball team. She has a great senior year so far including tying the girls school record for the most 3-pointers (6 baskets for 18 points) made in a game , and has been recognized on the pre-season and Eli Walter mid-season tournament teams. Come support Tallyn and the Lady Buffs on their last home game of the regular season on Friday, February 20th at 6:00.

All Republic County High School students are invited to the Buff
Dad Breakfast Thursday Evening from 6-7pm in the cafeteria. Buff Dads will be serving Pancakes, Sausage, Eggs, Fruit, and whatever else they can cook up. Students can get a great supper and then head to the Sweet Heart Pep Rally!

FCCLA members had a busy last couple of weeks. FCCLA along with FBLA hosted the annual Daddy-Daughter Dance on Saturday. Over 150 little girls and their daddy's enjoyed a meal and dance music.
The end of the week was breakfast with donuts and juice to start the day.

The Junior High Wrestling team travels to Phillipsburg on Saturday, February 14th. The Phillipsburg Middle School Junior Panther Classic Wrestling matches begin at 9:00 at Phillipsburg high school. Good luck junior high wrestlers.

Good luck to the Republic County Scholar's bowl team on Saturday, February 14th. The team will travel to Bennington to compete in the 2A State Scholar's Bowl Meet.

The Buffaloes have a home game on Friday, February 13th vs the Ellsworth Bearcats. Games begin at 4:30 with JV girls in the main gym and JV boys in the new gym. Varsity games begin at 6:00 for girls followed by the boys. Two quarters of C-team boys will also be played. Between the varsity games, pen pal night will be held. Good luck to all teams.

Today art I students learned about artist Pete Eckert, who is a blind photographer. We explored taking photos without sight. Students were impressed how well they could still take photographs while relying on touch instead of sight!

Republic County wishes the girls wrestling team the best of luck at the 321A Girls West Regional Wrestling Tournament on Friday, February 13th and February 14th. They will travel to Trego Community High School in WaKeeney. Matches begin at 12:00 on Friday and 10:00 on Saturday. These girls look to place in the top 8 of their weight class in order to advance to the state tournament.
