Student Shoutout!!!
Last semester, Helena Shelly completed a research project on homelessness and went a step further than the assignment required—she reached out directly to the White House to ask how the federal government is addressing the issue.
Today, Helena received a response acknowledging her concern for the challenges facing our nation and encouraging students like her to stay engaged, work hard, and continue making a positive impact in their communities.
This is exactly what we hope students take away from civics and social studies: that real issues matter, that asking thoughtful questions matters, and that their voices—even as students in rural Kansas—matter.

Republic County will host the Southeast of Saline Trojans on Tuesday, January 27th. Basketball games will be as follows:

The Annual Daddy/Daughter Dance will be held on Saturday, February 7th at the 4-H Building in Belleville, KS.

The District IV FBLA Conference scheduled for Monday, January 26th has been postponed to Thursday, January 29th. It will be held at the Central Christian Church with registration starting at 8:00 am, opening ceremony at 8:30 am, and judging at 9:00 am. It should conclude by noon.
NCAA League Scholars Bowl has been postponed for tomorrow
In the final day of Competition in the 59th annual Berean Academy basketball tournament, the girls lose the 3rd place game to take 4th versus the Hutch Central Christian Lady Cougars; the boys took 5th place defeating Elyria Christian 51-33. Go Buffs!
