As we prepare for the 2026–2027 school year, Kansas schools are implementing the new statewide Cell Phone and Personal Electronic Device Policy, designed to create distraction-free learning environments where students can focus, engage, and succeed.
At Republic County Jr./Sr. High School, students in grades 6–12 will continue using our Yondr system to securely store personal electronic devices during the school day. Devices covered by the policy include cell phones, smart watches, tablets, personal laptops, wireless earbuds/headphones, and other personal communication devices.
A few important reminders:
📱 Devices must be powered off and secured from 8:00 a.m. to 3:30 p.m.
🔒 Students will secure their devices in their assigned Yondr Bag. High school students who drive to school may also choose to leave their powered-off devices secured in their vehicle during the school day.
☎️ Students always have access to the school office phone for urgent communication with parents or guardians.
❤️ Exceptions may be made for documented medical needs and students with qualifying accommodations.
This policy is about much more than limiting screen time. It is about maximizing instructional time, encouraging meaningful interactions, reducing distractions, and helping our students be fully engaged in their learning each day.
Thank you for partnering with us as we continue to create a positive learning environment where every student can thrive.
🦬 Every Minute Matters.
Strong Foundation. Future Success.

At Republic County School, every day of learning matters. Consistent attendance helps students build strong relationships, stay on pace academically, and make the most of every opportunity.
To help families plan vacations, appointments, and other events, we've created this 2026-2027 Vacation & Long Weekend Planner highlighting school breaks, three-day weekends, and no-school days throughout the year.
Whenever possible, we encourage families to schedule trips and appointments during these planned breaks to minimize missed instructional time.
Thank you for partnering with us to support student success. Together, we are building a Strong Foundation, Future Success. ❤️🤍💙🐃
