Fort Hays State offers some great summer camps for 9th and 10th graders. All freshman and sophomores should have an email with the flyer attached. These are a great way to do some career exploration. For more information see Mrs Aurand or Mrs Hubert.
Class of 2022...there are several scholarship deadlines approaching. The KSHSAA True Blue Scholarship is due tomorrow, March 1. Kansas State University Catbacker Club Scholarships are due to Mrs. Hubert by Wednesday, March 9. She will hand deliver them to Concordia. All Kansas Masonic Lodge Scholarships are due by March 15. Please see Mrs. Hubert or Mrs. Aurand with questions!
Congratulations to Nicole Popelka for being named the DAR Good Citizen. Nicole was chosen because she demonstrates the qualities of dependability, service, leadership, and patriotism.

It is Sub-State Basketball week, make plans to come watch some great games! The RCHS girls travel to Valley Heights Monday night, game time is 7:00! The RCHS boys travel to Bennington on Tuesday, game time is 7:00! Good luck Buffs!

What a weekend for the RCHS Wrestling team at Hays , KS in the Class 3A-2A-1A Wrestling Tourn. The team tied for 4th place. Andrew Hubert got 3rd at 170lbs, Johnny Dyke is RCHS newest State Champion at 152 lbs, AJ Polansky was 4th at 120 lbs, and Garrett Siemsen was 6th at 182 lbs (boys are listed from left to right between Coach Wossum and Head Coach Adam Polansky). Not pictured was Owen Weatherhead who finished 8th just outside of placing, but scored some very important team points. Go Buffs!
This year in the senior division of the Kansas Art Education Association’s Youth Art Month’s competition, we’re submitted something a little different. Senior JaeLynn Russell has been working these past 9 weeks creating modified art education lessons, that she can publish on her online blog, as part of her senior project. She has been working with two students daily, creating various projects in different mediums. Rainbow Giraffe, a mixed media piece created out of tissue paper and resin (on canvas) will compete in this years show and be on exhibit at the Alice Sabatini Gallery, in Topeka’s, Shawnee County Public Library. Show runs March 2nd-26th.

Please help me congratulate Mekenzie Banahan on having her artwork selected to complete in the Kansas Art Education Association’s Youth Art Month Show! Mekenzie’s batik will be completing against other middle school students across Kansas. This show will be open March 2nd- 26th at the Alice Sabatini Gallery, in Topeka’s Shawnee County Public Library.

2A Sub-State Basketball Brackets are Posted! First round games, girls travel to Valley Heights on Monday, boys travel to Bennington on Tuesday.
Grades 9-12 will have a remote learning day, February 23. Students will be receiving information regarding logging during seminar from their seminar teacher. Students will only need to log in during seminar from 12:30-1:00 today. Students must log in to be counted for attendance. All practices will still occur at regular scheduled time.
USD #109 will have a two (2) hour late start due to the extreme cold and windchills this morning. There will be no morning preschool. Bundle up and stay warm. See everyone at 10am.

LUNCHES -- Thursday, Feb. 24 -- With the early dismissal on Thursday at 11:30am, we will be providing a Grab N Go lunch for students who would like one. The meal will consist of Italian Sub, baby carrots with ranch, applesauce and Milk. Teachers will be taking a count on Thursday morning in their classes. The students will be given the meal to take home with them.
