Who: 1st through 3rd graders attending USD 109
**Grade based on 2022-2023 school year**
What: This will be a skills-based camp focusing on the fundamentals of football.
When: July 16 8:00AM - 9:30AM
Where: RCHS football field

REMINDER -- SUMMER MEALS will not be served on Monday and Tuesday, July 4th and 5th. They will resume on Wednesday, July 6th with lunch at 11:30am - 12:30pm (with the option to pick up breakfast for the next day)
FREE SUMMER MEALS -- Update -- Beginning on Wednesday, July 6th we will NO longer be serving breakfast at a separate time. Breakfast will be available along with the lunch. Lunch will be served from 11:30 am - 12:30pm at East Elementary. A breakfast for the next day will be available to pick up when getting the lunch.

KSHSAA SUMMER MORATORIUM – July 4-July 10, 2022
There shall be NO school related athletic activities. During this time coaches and coaches aides shall be prohibited from engaging in any type of activity involving student athletes whether it be practice, training, weight lifting, conditioning, competition or travel. All member school athletic facilities will be closed during this period to school personnel and students grades 7-12.
Fbla nationals start today. Today Halle competes in future business leader objective testing. Nevan, Andrew, Blake compete in Sports & Entertainment Management objective test.
Eleven educators from the Republic County Schools joined educators from Concordia, Washington, Pike Valley, Clifton-Clyde, and LCNCK in completing a 4-day training in Adaptive Schools on the RCJSHS cafeteria. The trainer was Dr. Kelly Gillespie, pictured in the far right front of the picture.

Congrats to the Blue Team for winning the Republic County Girls 3 on 3 league. Coach Allie and I appreciate all the hard work the girls have put in this summer!

RCJSHS girls basketball finished up Midwest Elite Camp today. Thanks to Coach Nate and Coach Caden for coming and pushing us to get better!
The high school volleyball team put on a Future Buffalo Camp last week! Everyone learned some skills and had a lot of fun!

Midwest Elite Basketball comes to Belleville Monday, June 20th through Wednesday, June 22nd to host a camp for those that signed up. Girls camp will be from 8 a.m to noon each day and boys camp will be from 1 p.m to 5 p.m each day. Look forward to see the improvements made by everyone involved. Go Buffs!
USD 109 NAMES INTERIM SUPERINTENDENT
JUNE 17, 2022 –
The USD 109 Board of Education has announced the selection of Nancy L. Meyer as the interim superintendent for 2022-2023 school year. Mrs. Meyer will take the reins on July 1, 2022 with her first day in the district on July 5. Formal approval took place at a special board meeting held June 17, 2022 at 8:00 a.m.
Mrs. Meyer and her husband, Gary currently reside in Olathe, KS. Previously, Mrs. Meyer served as interim superintendent at Riley County, KS, in 2015-2016. She was superintendent at Holton Schools from 2010-2014, and Marmaton Valley Schools from 2006-2010. She has also served as a high school principal for 3 years and a business teacher for 12 years. Most recently, she has been substitute teaching in the Kansas City area.
Mrs. Meyer will receive a one year contract with an annual salary of $90,000 and benefits. She will replace Superintendent Larry Lyder.

USD 109 is looking for bus drivers to join our transportation team. A class B CDL along with the P and S endorsements are required. The district will provide training to acquire this license if necessary. Starting wage is $18 per hour for a route driver with a guaranteed minimum of at least 4 hours per day. More hours are available through some noon pre-school routes as well. Activity drivers will start at $15 per hour. Anyone working over 25 hours per week will also be eligible for a full single paid health/dental insurance.
