Carlie and I are SO SO proud of what these girls pulled off today. Not only did they defend the state champion title in duet, but also brought home gold in impromptu! Individual results were Emma Hubert: 1st in impromptu and 4th in humorous, Maelin Johnson: 4th in extemp, 4th in LD debate, and 1st in duet with Olivia Rieke. Olivia also medaled in impromptu with 5th place. I’d also like to brag on how epically they all performed as a team. Despite only having 6/16 entries, these ladies placed 7th as a team out of 27 teams at state. That is a feat! Imagine what we could do with more buffaloes in our herd. Go buffs, go buffs, go buffs, go! Ryan Nelson

Also, a HUGE shoutout to Mr. Nelson for training Maelin in a brand new event for our school’s history (Lincoln Douglas debate with a 3-2 record). He has a huge heart for forensics and we are so fortunate for his willingness to share it with us.
