In Advanced Art we have been working on a variety of heritage projects. Kash Henke decided to work with old family photos. He was able to take some snap shots of old family photos on his phone, which we later digitally transformed into negatives. It's taken a couple weeks to get everything just right, but we successfully created new prints of the photos in our darkroom this week! Kash is currently creating a lino cut of an old camera that he can use in his piece. Some kids assume you walk into the dark room and just print a picture.Kash has learned it takes patience and persistence, learning how very little light can have a BIG impact on your photo. We will be showcasing all of our student heritage projects later in the year. 📷
