Go Buffs!

December student of the month at Republic County is Kolby Strnad. Herd members are Avery Stindt, Izzy Novak, Lucas Schultz, and Julian Swank. Thank you for all your hard work and positivity that you bring to our school.

The Republic County Basketball Teams will be playing at home on Tuesday, January 14th versus Sacred Heart. JV action will begin at 4:30, Varsity Girls at 6:00, and Varsity Boys to follow. Good luck to all teams.

The 4th Graders are studying the U.S. Regions. To help make this a little more fun, we are asking our friends to send us postcards from all over the U.S. Our goal is to have a postcard from all 50 states. The postcards can be ones that you have or have someone from a different state send one to us!
Please help spread the word and join in on the fun!😊 Thank you!

The Eastern Kansas Scholastic Art Awards were announced this afternoon. This exhibition is highly competitive and showcases select artwork created by middle school and high school students from 70 Kansas counties.
The Awards give students opportunities for recognition, exhibition, publication, and scholarships. Participants, supported by their visual arts teachers and other community mentors, create and submit their best works of art. Each work is reviewed by a panel of art professionals for originality, technical skill and the emergence of personal vision.
Judging Criteria is based on the following:
Originality: An original work is different from what others have created. This means the work is not copied from someone else’s original art or writing. We understand that artists and writers sometimes make work that references other creators and popular culture in original and meaningful ways, but every work that wins an Award must be substantially different from any source material.
Skill: We interpret the word “skill” broadly. This may refer to craftsmanship and the way the work was made, but it may also refer to other types of skill. Consider critical thinking, problem-solving, or the way an idea is developed over time. Empathy can be a skill. Creativity is a skill!
Emergence of a personal voice or vision: We’re looking for work that expresses an authentic perspective and stands out from classroom assignments and social media trends.
Congratulations to the following students for being selected as the 2024-2025 Scholastic Art award winners!
Our Silver Key winner, Ren Wright will have her work featured in the Mark Arts Gallery in Wichita, KS during the month of February!
Buff Proud💙❤️
