Republic County USD 109 is proud to welcome Mr. Eric Jones to the Buffalo Family as the Junior High Principal, Junior High Activities Director and District Curriculum Director.
Mr. Jones will start his new position in August and comes to us from Remington High School where is currently a high school social studies teacher with previous teaching experience at Lakeside Junior High where he was also a social studies teacher.
Mr. Jones graduated from Hiawatha High School and attended the University of Kansas where he earned is Bachelor of Science in Education. He continued his education at Emporia State University where he obtained a Masters in Curriculum and Instruction along with a Masters in Educational Leadership.
Mr. Jones is joined by his wife, Amanda, who is from Clyde, and their two sons: Lincoln who will be in 1st grade next year and and Carter who will be starting preschool.

Come one, come everyone: All community stakeholders and patrons are invited to join us tonight at 6:30pm in the new gym as Mike Donahue with Value Up will present on valuing yourself and valuing others to help build a strong, positive culture.
Mr. Donahue is presenting throughout the day to students and staff in various breakouts. Come engage to help build a stronger Buff Community.

With the Winter Olympics right around the corner, 1st and 2nd grade created table top ice hockey games to explain friction, motion, and energy! 🏒 🥅





Please join RCHS KAY members as they host a Leukemia and Lymphoma Society event this evening at the basketball game versus Beloit. We will have blanket sponsorships available to purchase for Connor's Cuddles. Sponsoring a blanket is 20.00. We will also have cakes and baked goods available in the cafeteria. All proceeds will be donated to Carlie Foutch and family. Finally, we will be canvasing the crowds during halftime of both girls and boys for coins to donate to Leukemia and Lymphoma Society. The Junior Class and Junior Class Parents are selling Krispy Kreme doughnuts to help pay for Prom and After Prom. The doughnuts can be picked up on Friday, February 18th starting at 4:00 p.m. To order your doughnuts contact a Junior Class member or call the school. Orders are due by Wed February 9th!! So order soon!


The High School students performed Broadway Solos for the Elementary today singing Disney themed songs.

The RCHS forensics team competed in their first tournament of the season yesterday at Sabetha. The team started strong with great showings in prelims from Dylan McCartney in oration and poetry, Sarah Rieke in poetry, Olivia Rieke in impromptu speaking, Maelin Johnson in informative speaking, Cassey Robertson in prose, Jaycie Stindt in humorous solo, Jaycie and Cassey in IDA, and Maelin and Olivia in duet. Those breaking into a tough final round were Jaycie and Cassey with 2nd in IDA, Jaycie with 1st in humorous, Olivia with 4th in impromptu, Maelin with 5th in informative, and Maelin and Olivia with 6th in duet. The team qualified 2 entries for state champs and 2 entries for state festival.




At the 64th Annual Rocky Welton wrestling tournament Johnny Dyke (2nd from left)was 4th, Andrew Hubert (3rd from left)was 2nd, AJ Polansky (3rd from right)was 8th, and Garret Siemsen (2nd from right)was 13th. Incredible showing at Garden City in an uber tough 6A tournament. Go Buffs!


At Red Cloud, the Republic County wrestlers were 3rd place as a team. Owen Weatherhead was first, Alex Dyke, Jordan Williams, and Ayden Polansky were 2nd, and Josh Shelly, Hunter Reynolds, Carson Simmons were 3rd in their respective weight classes. Go Buffs!!

At the Red Cloud Wrestling Tournament, Republic County Wrestlers are in first place entering the final round. Go Buffs!!


The RCHS Wrestling team is competing at The 64th Annual Rocky Welton Tourn. in Garden City this weekend. All brackets were 24 man brackets; On Day 1-Graham Jensen went 0-2, AJ Polansky and Johnny Dyke are 3-1 with a chance to wrestle for 3rd place if they can navigate the backside of the bracket tomorrow, Garrett Siemsen went 2-2 and can wrestle for 12th-15th place tomorrow. Andrew Hubert went 4-0 and will wrestle for 1st tomorrow. We are super proud of all of you and wish you the best! Go Buffs!


The high school boys basketball team is looking forward to resuming Jam tomorrow from 8:30-10:00 for 1st-3rd grades, and 10:00-11:30 for 4th-6th. See you tomorrow morning!!!
