Event Announcement:
Republic County Senior Government Class is hosting a special program at the Blair Theater on Tuesday, September 10th, starting at 7:45 PM. Our students will be hosting a program called Debate Watch. Debate Watch is a non-partisan event designed to bring the community together to view and discuss key political debates in a respectful and engaging environment. It's an excellent opportunity for citizens of all ages to witness the democratic process in action, foster thoughtful discussions, and deepen their understanding of important issues. Our seniors are excited to invite you to join us for the event next week.
Being held in places around the nation since 1992, this program/idea is an opportunity for our Republic County seniors to engage in the civic process, while attempting to increase community political engagement. The program will begin with a brief introduction and overview of the debate's significance, followed by the live broadcast of the Presidential Debate. Afterward, there will be moderated discussions in small groups(each small group will have a senior student and adult moderator) where attendees can share their thoughts, ask questions, and engage in meaningful dialogue about the topics discussed during the debate. If you desire to watch the debate, and then wish not to participate in the small groups, then you can leave immediately following the debate. There will also be a table for individuals to check/update or register to vote.
This event is open to everyone in the community at no cost, and we encourage you to bring your friends and family for an evening of insightful observation and conversation. Come early to secure your seats, and be part of this unique civic experience.

The fair dates will be September 16-20.
The hours of the fair will be :
M,W,F from 7:30 am to 4:00 pm and T, TH from 7:30 am to 7:00 pm

Due to expected high temperatures tomorrow, the HS football practice on Thursday will be at 6 am in the morning.

Parents of Class of 2025. Please join us for a parent night this Thursday, August 29 at 7:00 PM in the front flex room. We will cover topics such as scholarships, FAFSA, Apply Kansas, and ordering cap/gown units from Jostens - among others.
Republic County FCCLA is on Kansas State University campus to participate in the Take Aim Conference!
HS Football will practice at East Elementary tomorrow after school due to the heat, bring appropriate shoes and shorts for the gym. Go Buffs

We will start serving supper at 5pm outside the school shop.
2nd & 5th hour art are learning about different soils. We spent this week doing different labs, testing the permeability of soils from Rocky Pond, RCHS, High Banks, & some from south east Kansas. We are planning on using our finding to help us create our own clay, then run some firing tests on them, while exploring different firing techniques!
Shout out to Mr. Strnad for his expertise and guidance!

Gwen and Jordyn spent a week of their summer representing Republic County at KAY camp at Rock Springs Ranch. They made new friends and came home with lots of great ideas to strengthen our local KAY Club!
RCHS Student Council would like to thank everyone that came out and supported the Back to School Bash last Friday! It was a great to see the involvement of all ages from the school and community! We hope all of our Buffaloes have a great school year!
