Day 1 of the FFA National Convention Trip. We had an awesome opportunity to tour Flowers Baking Company in Lenexa, KS. We got a brief rundown of the history of the company and their brands which include Wonder Bread, Nature’s Own, and Home Pride. We were able see the entire process from mixing ingredients and kneading, to proofing, baking, cooling and packaging. The product never touches human hands all the way through the process. From mixing to leaving the bakery, one loaf takes about 3 hours. They make about 7,500 loaves an hour! Also crazy to watch the loaves travel around the plant by conveyor(Over a mile in all!)
Check out all of their adventures this week by following the FFA page, RepCo FFA!
