The Lady Buffs Basketball Team had their season opener last night against a tough Bennington team. The Junior Varsity squad battled hard, and though the result wasn’t what we hoped for, there’s a lot of potential for growth. As for the Varsity team, they played with great intensity and aggression throughout most of the game. The team worked hard on both offense and defense, but unfortunately, we couldn’t hold on to the momentum at the end. The final score was 31-50, but I’m proud of the way they competed. There’s plenty of room to grow and improve, and I believe we’re on the right track.

The high school basketball season begins today at 4:30 against the Bennington Bulldogs at Republic County.
Order of play is 4:30- JV Boys in New Gym, 4:30- JV Girls in Main Gym, 6:00- Varsity Girls followed by Varsity Boys in the Main Gym.

The Junior High Buffaloes traveled to Minneapolis to take on the lions. After 3 close games, the Buffaloes left Minneapolis with 2 wins. The C team won 24-22. The B team lost a close game in overtime 23-25. The A team left Minneapolis with a 31-28 win. Go Buffs!!!
The Junior High Lady Buffaloes hosted the Minneapolis Lions tonight. The C team lost 12-20. The B team lost a close game in overtime 23-24. The A team girls ended the night with a 24-15 victory. Go Buffs!!!

Both the boys and girls Republic County B-Team squads were in action today, with each team going 1-1. The girls beat Minneapolis in their first game 26-21 and then fell to Beloit in the second game. The boys came up short in their first game 20-26 to Minneapolis and then responded well in their second game beating Beloit 31-22. Go Buffs!!!
The Boys Wrestling Team will start their season on Saturday, December 7th at Harvard, NE. First match begins at 10 am. Watch meets live on the Republic County Wrestling facebook page. Good luck to all wrestlers.
Republic County will be hosting a B-Team Basketball Tournament on Saturday, December 7th starting at 9:00. Please review the poster for game times and locations. Come support these young athletes and good luck to all players.
