It's getting to be that time of year when lots of fun sicknesses start to get shared. It can be difficult to know when to send your kids to school and when to keep them home. Attendance is SO important in academic achievement. Even missing just 2 days a month can cause huge gaps in instruction time. This handout can help you decide if you should keep your child home or send them to school.

The Junior High Buffaloes hosted the Clifton-Clyde Eagles this evening. Congratulations to the A team, B Team, and C team boys for picking up the first wins of the year! Both the A and B team girls showed fight but came up short against the Eagles. GO BUFFS!!!

The USD 109 Board of Education Election Day is on Tuesday, November 7th. Positions 1, 3, 5, and 7 are open. Elected candidates will start their term in January of 2024.

The Republic County Junior High Dance for this Friday has been postponed. A new date in December will be announced soon!

Mrs. Strnad received news today that her Forging Creativity grant for $945.00 was selected to receive funding from the Republic County Community Foundation! This grant will help provide a hands on field trip for some of Mrs. Strnad's classes. Students will travel to Wichita, where they will be given the opportunity to take a metal smithing class, visit the Wichita Art Museum, and stop by Cocoa Dolce, where they will get to see and visit with artisans hand painting chocolates! Thank you Republic County Community Foundation for supporting the Arts in our schools and community! ❤️

The East Elementary Halloween Parade will have a shortened route tomorrow due to the forecasted cold weather. Students will begin the route by exiting the building from the north B1 Door, heading west on the sidewalk on 18th Street. They will then proceed south on N Street, which is the western block of the square. The students will turn east on 19th Street towards East Elementary, where they will enter through south Door A1. We hope this will allow the students to show off their costumes while limiting their time outside in the cold. Please make sure students are dressed appropriately to be ready for the walk around the block.

As we approach basketball season, please take note of changes for free throws for all JH and HS games. This is a change made by NFHS. Please be patient with officials and score table workers as they transition to this new rule.

Here's a sneak peak of the set of the Buffalo Actor's Guild's fall production: Radium Girls by DW Gregory. Please check off your calendars for Friday, November 10th and Saturday, November 11th at 7pm. Grace Fryer makes her case on behalf of the Radium Girls of the United Radium Corporation, who were poisoned from their work painting watch dials. Citizens of the 1920's are slowly becoming aware of the dangers of radium, and rely on news media outlets to share the girls' story so they can have their day in court. So make sure you "hear all about it!" So you can make your own judgements about the company's guilt in this ordeal. We look forward to seeing you all at the show!

Great job to our girls cross country runners today at State! The team placed 8th, individual medalists were Ellie Callaway with 7th and Dakota Peters with 13th! Way to go girls!

Art I hit the pottery wheels this week. They are finding out it's not as easy as it looks, but they are off to a great start!

Buffs football is down 6-12 going into the 4th quarter tonight versus Leon Bluestem.

Republic County football is tied 6-6 with just over 3 minutes to play in the 3rd quarter. The Buffs are playing Leon Bluestem tonight...
