Today is a BIG day for science, STEM, and NASA! The Mars Rover, Perseverance, is landing on Mars TODAY! Last year's junior high STEM classes and this year's 6th grade learned about the EDL stage (Entry, Descent, and Landing), which is the process to get from the top of the atmosphere of Mars to the surface. They also modeled this process with a challenging marble run. Learning about how challenging this process is, makes today an even more exciting day for these students. (The pictures without masks are from last year's classes!) If you would like more information or the livestream, click on the following links:
For more information, our favorite engineer Mark Rober has an interesting video about this process:

NASA's livestream video can be found at the following link: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=gm0b_ijaYMQ&t=0s
The livestream will begin at 1:15 and the actual landing should occur at about 2:55 (EDL starting at about 2:48).

No Pre-School on Thursday, February 18. Grades K-12 will be in person tomorrow, February 18, during regular times. Most all rooms are holding temperature today (68-72) with only a few rooms still in the low to mid-60 range. Various accommodations are being made for those classrooms. Please dress accordingly. We will recheck rooms at 6am to ensure they held their temperature through the night and are ready to welcome back students in the morning.
