Online Enrollment Updates:
-Thank you for the patience and positive feedback, as well as, the constructive feedback you have provided as we launch the online enrollment process this year and hope to continue to improve the process. We have had numerous families already complete the process with ease and success and look forward to watching the process move forward.
-In person enrollment will be Thursday, August 5, and Friday, August 6, in the Jr/Sr High School Cafeteria from 8am to 4pm for anyone who does not have access to a device or needs assistance. There will be chromebooks set up for families to utilize to complete the online enrollment process. Please do not come in prior to Thursday or Friday as there will be no devices in the offices set up to complete the process.
-There is not a paper option this year. All enrollment is online directly through Powerschool.
-Unfortunately, after talking to Powerschool, the Powerschool app does not support the online enrollment process.
-We are continuing to work with Powerschool to resolve the online fee payment option. This is only an option and you are more than welcome to continue to come into the office after you have enrolled to pay fees in person. You can still complete the online enrollment even without paying fees online.

Coach Melton, Coach James, and I thank the girls for a great summer of weights! Best of luck in your fall sports!

I would like to thank everyone for their patience and understanding as we launch online enrollment for the first time. Your feedback and questions are essential to us improving upon the process in real time, and in the future. The issue with students not being able to type their name in the laptop release , activities contract and Permissions/Agreements forms have been resolved, and your student(s) should be able to sign that portion of those forms now. We are still working through issues with the online payment forms, and hope to have more information on this by the end of the week. Please visit https://www.usd109.org/page/online-enrollment for information on enrollment. This page should provide everything you need to complete enrollment, and contact information should you have questions.
Thank you

Junior High and High School sports practices start on August 16th! All participants need to make sure to have physicals before the first day of practice! Below is the link to print the physical form.

Re: Response to Critical Race Theory
The subject of critical race theory has been dominating the media and social media headlines lately. Just as we teach our students to be judicious consumers of information, we encourage all patrons to educate themselves on what critical race theory (CRT) truly is and what it is not.
Critical race theory is not part of the Kansas State Department of Education, nor Republic County USD 109’s academic standards that we teach in our classrooms. Our curriculum is aligned with the Kansas State Department of Education’s academic standards that can be found at www.ksde.org.
Republic County USD 109 is a learning community dedicated to and continues to ensure educational practices and excellence so that all students achieve at high levels and graduate prepared for success in college, careers and live in a rapidly changing world.
Republic County USD 109 will continue to teach the exact same academic standards as the district has been teaching in our classrooms.
Educationally,
Larry Lyder
Superintendent

We are still working through a few hiccups with online enrollment, including fee payments, as well as a couple forms not allowing signatures to be typed. We will have these issues resolved as soon as possible.
Additionally, we have received several requests for assistance in creating a parent portal account along with questions regarding doing so, we are working through those in the order received and responding as quickly as possible. If you haven't heard back from us yet, rest assured we will be in touch as soon as we can. Thank you to everyone for your patience throughout this learning process.

We just dropped this sweet girl off for a week at KAY Leadership Camp! Have a great time!
