Spring is upon us, and as such, the Republic County boys and girls basketball teams will be teaming up to host the Buffalo Youth Track Meet again this year(formerly the Lady Buffs Youth Track meet). It will take place at the Republic County High School track on April 15th at 9:00 a.m. Please see the attached form to register. Please note the date change to April 15th.

Mark your calendars for the Winter Sports Banquet! Sports recognized will be Cheerleading, Girls Basketball, Boys Basketball, and Wrestling!

Parents! Now is the time to apply for the NEK-CAP Summer Food Assistance Program. The deadline to apply is March 20th so it will be here quickly! To apply go to www. nekcap.org Applications and all paperwork must be in by the 20th!

RCHS Art Club had a great field trip to Omaha today! We toured the Durham, went through the Hall of Heros, explored the Hot Shops, and picked out a watercolor for our art collection! Can’t wait to go back! 🚌 🗺️ 🎨

Congratulations to Ella Pachta on being named the 2023 North Central District FFA Star Farmer! She will represent Republic Co. FFA and our district at the 2023 State Convention. To earn this honor, she submitted an application for State Degree, her record book was chosen worthy as a Star Candidate, and this evening she was interviewed and evaluated along with her application.

JH Scholars bowl competed at Sacred Heart on Monday night. Despite some technical difficulities the seventh grade team broke through to finals and ended the night with a fourth place finish! Our final meet for the season is our home meet on Thursday with 8 teams participating! Go Buffs!

So…We did a thing tonight! Students from Mr. Strnad’s Ag Business and Ag Research classes competed in the Republic Co. Youth Entrepreneurship Challenge. The team of Lily Havel, Macey Homeier, and Trey Melton and their business concept of Coal Creek Outfitters placed 1st overall and also won the Best Marketing Award, winning a total of $850. The team of Olivia Strnad and Sarah Miller and their class business of RC Drone Photography placed 2nd Overall, winning $500. Congratulations to all of the students competing and the young artists with their work on display! Special thanks to Republic County Economic Development for putting the event on, as well as the many sponsors and judges for making the event possible!


Thanks to everyone who came over to Pike Valley this evening to support our kiddos in art and in the YEC exhibit. We had a great evening!




Sixth grade STEM spent today creating Pop-up Interior Houses. The houses are created by using paper and folds to make them appear 3D.




Be sure to stop by Pike Valley High School tonight to check out the Youth Entrepreneur Challenge. RCHS art students along with PVHS will have some awesome art work that will be on display, featuring agricultural in Republic County! 🌾 🌽 🐄

Day 5: Fine Art’s Month
Today we are featuring 2018 RCHS graduate, Laurel Fischer! Laurel loves drawing and creating wildlife portraits in colored pencil, and still finds time to create today! She has been a participant and placer, in the professional/amateur ROAR Art show the past two years.
In high school she participated in art, league art, concert band, pep band, marching band, and jazz band. Currently Laurel is attending K-State, where she is double majoring in drawing and metal smithing!
