The Battlin’ Buffs football team left for Leon/Bluestem as the Marching Buffs played the fight song. The Buffs will be playing their final game of the season, game starts at 6 pm. Go Buffs!

Mr. Strnad wrote a grant earlier this fall for the Junior Class Seminar, to provide an etiquette dinner and training for all 11th Grade students. We are thrilled to announce that we have been selected as one of the Republic County Community Foundation Grant Recipients for $800. We are excited to get to provide such a great opportunity for our students!


Mrs. Strnad’s Art Room is a excited to have been selected for a $1000 grant, from the Republic County Community Foundation!!!! We will be using funds for our 1st Annual Spring Art Walk.Stay tuned, we will have lots of creative fun to share with you!

Kindergarten read Creepy Carrots 🥕 and created a fence to keep carrots in the garden!





Reminder: Game time for tomorrow night's football game at Leon-Bluestem is 6:00 pm.

The junior high dance scheduled for Friday, October 28th will be rescheduled due to the away high school football game and play practice. The reschedule date is December 2nd from 8:30-10:30 with a holiday ugly sweater theme.

The Republic County USD 109 Middle School/Jr. High STEM program is beyond excited to be awarded an $8000 grant from the Republic County Community Foundation. This grant is a critical component to allow us to bring necessary resources to the classroom, including intricate STEM projects and advanced robotics. Pictured is the current 6th grade STEM class.


The JV football team ended their season with a win tonight over Sacred Heart, 24-8!

JV football is at Sacred Heart today, game is at Kansas Wesleyan Stadium at 5:00 pm.

East Elementary families- Please join us in celebrating Red Ribbon Week as we focus on healthy minds and healthy bodies!


Regional Cross Country was held at Alma-Wabaunsee today, the girls finished in 7th and the boys in 9th. The day included temps of 71+ and very windy conditions. Ellie Callaway qualified for Class 2A State XC next week at the Wamego Golf Course by finishing in 8th place. Congratulations Ellie!!
