Plan on being here for about 45 minutes, answering some questions about your child and getting to know preschool a little better. Upcoming East Elementary Dates
East Open House for students PreK - 5th grade - Tuesday, August 17th from 4:30-5:30 pm.
August 19 - 1st Grade - 5th Grade First Day of School.
August 20 - Kindergarten First Day of School.

Preschool and Kindergarten Parents - Be on the lookout for a sign-up time for you and your student on August 19th.
Jr High Girls Volleyball-first practice is Monday from 3:45-5:30 at East Elementary Gym. Parent/player meeting will follow at 5:45. Girls must have physicals turned in before they can practice, either turn them into the high school office or bring them to practice. Make sure to have good tennis shoes and knee pads!
Attention all parents of juniors and seniors taking College Algebra. Please have your son/daughter check their email for very important information regarding this class. This class will start at 8:00 AM on Tuesday, August 17.

Attention Fall parents of athletes there is Parent/Player Sports meeting at RCJSHS at 6:30 pm Thursday August 12th for HS Volleyball, HS/JH Football, and HS/JH Cross Country. Information regarding your child’s participation in those sports will be handed out. The football coaches plan to check out some gear and students who have not ‘Impact’ tested (Concussion Protocol) will have an opportunity to take that night.
I have 5 locker mates to any Republic County student that could use one. First come, first serve!

The BOE meeting for tonight has been moved to the front flex classroom at the Jr/Sr High due to the A/C going out at the board office today.
All District and Building Offices will be closed on Wednesday, August 11, due to a planned power outage from the city replacing a power pole that feeds the Jr/Sr High resulting in an internet outage throughout the district.
If you have not enrolled your students, please stop by either East Elementary or the Jr/Sr High School office any day this week other than Wednesday and there will be chromebooks available for you to complete enrollment.
Junior parents and students!
Races are postponed until tomorrow night. They want us to cleanup before and also after the races since it is a mess after tonight. We are going to plan to clean at 1:00 tomorrow, please come help so it will go faster! We will then clean again after the races!

All coaches we will have a meeting at 5 pm next Thursday-August 12…this is for ALL head and assistant coaches Fall-Winter-Spring seasons. Go Buffs!
Republic County USD #109 will recommend/encourage masks for students and staff, but not require masks in the buildings to start the school year.
Per Federal Order UNDER SECTION 361 OF THE PUBLIC HEALTH SERVICE ACT (42 U.S.C. 264) AND 42 CODE OF FEDERAL REGULATIONS 70.2, 71.31(b), 71.32(b) masks will be required at all times on school buses and in school vehicles.
This is not a USD 109 or State of Kansas mandate. This is a federal order relating to public transportation and includes school busses and school vehicles.

“Are masks required on school buses?
Yes, passengers and drivers must wear a mask on school buses, including on buses operated by public and private school systems, subject to the exclusions and exemptions in CDC’s Order. "

As our Fall Sports season approaches we are actively seeking all of our students to drop their physicals off at RCJSHS. We are currently at the school everyday 8-4. Go Buffs!
