Welcome to Band!!!
I started out my life a few miles north of Abilene, KS and attended Chapman High School for four years until graduating in 1980. I was involved in marching band and concert band while attending Chapman. After high school I attended Cloud County Community College for two years. I participated in the first Kick's Jazz Band at Cloud and it is still going to this day. After Cloud, I transferred to Kansas State University and received my B.A. in Music Education and graduated from K-State in 1986.
After college I met the love of my life, Ann, and upon marrying her we had three children, Dustyn, Devyn, and Dynae. With her children Heath and Heather and our three children we had a houseful, but it was a lot of fun. I have always enjoyed being with family, playing endless rounds of golf, and going to the farm.
This will be my 30th year teaching high school band and junior high choir. Twenty of those years will be in Belleville/Republic County High School. While teaching at Belleville, the band has gone on several trips such as the Washington Mutual Thanksgiving Day Parade in Houston, TX, The Indy 500 parade in Indianapolis, IN, and the McDonald's Thanksgiving Day Parade in Chicago, Il and now Fiesta Bowl in Phoenix Arizona 2016. In 1995 I started up a junior high "Singers" group in Belleville which a special type of honor choir for junior high students that wish to improve their singing skills. Singers still continues to this day. I have a passion for music that I strive to convey to my students everyday in rehearsal and I hope to improve their musical abilities.
