Docking Institute Facilities Survey
The Docking Institute Facilities Survey results were presented Monday, May 13, to the USD-109 Board of Education. Dr. Gary Brinker, Director of the Institute, reviewed the results with the board at that meeting. Dr. Brinker indicated that between 850 and 875 completed surveys were returned which is between 40% and 50% of likely voters.

Public Meeting on the future of RCMS
The public is invited to a meeting conducted by Pioneer Group, Inc., Topeka, Kansas on Thursday, May 23, 2013, 7:00 PM at the Republic County Middle School Auditorium concerning the future development of the school and surrounding property. The RCMS building has received the state and federal historic registry designation necessary to qualify for historic renovation tax credits. On May 17, the Kansas Housing Corporation will announce the projects that will receive housing tax credits during this funding cycle. Preliminary information indicates that this project will receive the necessary housing tax credits.
At the meeting Mr. Freeman and his associates will explain the details of the housing project to those interested and will respond to questions. This is an exciting opportunity for the Belleville and Republic County area and will provide for decades to come a quality use for the old “Belleville High School” while meeting a community need for adequate housing.

cancellations, and school activities can be heard on the radio at KREP 92.1 FM, or by following our Twitter feed (@usd109).
USD-109 also transmits emergency or announcement related information via the Power Announcement phone notification system, which allows us to send out simultaneous phone calls to many patrons at once. All phone numbers collected at enrollment and stored in PowerSchool become part of the network. However, patrons may request that a specific number be opted-out by calling either your child's building or the USD-109 Central Office. When calling to make this request, please give both the phone number to be opted-out as well as the name of each child with whom that number might be related.
If you have questions about your school district, its programs or policies, please feel free to call or come in to the Board of Education office. The Republic County Schools belong to the residents of the district. We hope you will visit our schools from time to time to become better acquainted with our programs and facilities.
