Public Meeting on the future of RCMS
The public is invited to a meeting conducted by Pioneer Group, Inc., Topeka, Kansas on Thursday, May 23, 2013, 7:00 PM at the Republic County Middle School Auditorium concerning the future development of the school and surrounding property. The RCMS building has received the state and federal historic registry designation necessary to qualify for historic renovation tax credits. On May 17, the Kansas Housing Corporation announced the projects that will receive housing tax credits during this funding cycle. Preliminary information indicated that this project will receive the necessary housing tax credits.

At the meeting Mr. Freeman and his associates will explain the details of the housing project to those interested and will respond to questions. This is an exciting opportunity for the Belleville and Republic County area and will provide for decades to come a quality use for the old “Belleville High School” while meeting a community need for adequate housing.
